Had an awesome experience with Luke at Volvo Cars of Santa Monica. Months ago I filled out a form expressing interest in the XC40 and Luke kept reaching out via phone and e-mail (I work in sales so really appreciate the persistence). I later changed my mind and ended up leasing a 2018 S90 T5 Momentum and I'm thrilled with the vehicle - just picked it up a couple days ago. Luke even came in on his day off to close the deal. Wow. On my fourth volvo xc90 and I just haven't learned my lesson on what scam artists they are here. They lied to me about their pull ahead program both to my face and in writing in my contract and my husband and I have spent months on the phone being jerked around by them and volvo finance with one rude response after another. We have the receipts, so heading to BBB, Volvo Parent company, and beyond. I wish I could Volvo of Santa Monica less than one star. My experiences with this dealership, from purchasing my car new one year ago to dealing with the service department, have been incredibly frustrating. My car has had problems since I bought it and they have been nothing but insulting to me in dealing with the issues (for instance, sending me "how to" videos for using the car, when it is clearly malfunctioning). The D bags in the service center do not honor appointments. I called to make an appointment for an oil change and they said it would take 2 hours and they could not offer a loaner car. The next day, I show up for my appointment and they say it will actually take 24 hours for AN OIL CHANGE, and that they will not be offering a loaner car. They instead offered a RENTAL CAR for $45 a day for AN OIL CHANGE. Completely unserious people and should not be trusted as your dealer of choice.

I have had multiple Volvos and not sure I will continue buying these cars based on the experience I'm having. I have a 2019 xc60 t8 (hybrid)......very low mileage 32,014 and I have this hybrid system failure and weird grinding noise while driving. I took it directly to the dealer because they're supposed to be experts on their product. They diagnosed it and I paid $1,817 to change the coolant pipe and flush /change the coolant. Message to the Owner, Mr. Kline: Both of your dealerships are in the worst possible hands. What was once a respected luxury brand is now a total disaster just waiting to implode. Alex and Haik have both ignored customer complaints and allowed arrogant, unprofessional behavior to define the customer experience. This isn't luxury service--it's a chaotic shit show. I would rather drive hours to any other Volvo service center than this place. I went in for a normal service (about $800) with nothing wrong but when I got it back the check engine light was on. Then, AC was messed up because of a sensor. They literally took 6 months to fix my car. They would never call back after I left messages. They made promises about having rental cars but I would not hear from them for weeks. They even damaged the spoiler on my car, likely due to where they store all the cars off site because there is... read more

I bought an xc60 from Ontario many years ago and never had any problems. I traded it in at the Santa Monica location for a brand new xc40 in 2022 and it has been nothing but problems; the electricals were always glitching. The last time I brought it in my entertainment center broke down. They told me they found liquid and that it wouldn't be under warranty and quoted me $7k. What can you say about a place that wants to charge $325.00 for an oil change? I know is dealers charge more but this is absolutely price gouging from its previous pricing. We bought our Volvo from this dealer and have come to it for service since 2018. Absolutely no more. We went to an another dealer and got the service/oil change for under $200 (which is still crazy expensive but not like this place).
