Came in for an oil change, but They want to upsale me to run some hybrid battery test for $3k. This is some shady business.

They were super helpful when I came in for something quick, and making a service appointment was very easy. However, the service I came in for later was way overpriced, even by Bay Area standards. They upsold me to a ridiculous amount and were dismissive and condescending to me when I voiced my concerns. I won't be back.

You can't get through to make an service appointment. We have three Toyota's and getting them serviced is very difficult at this dealership. They do not answer their phones. You can be on hold for 20 minutes or more and no one picks up. When you leave messages, they don't call back. Even if you leave a message in the the service managers in box. The only way to get an appointment is to drive in and make the appointment. They absolutely could care less about customer service. We have even driven down to Stevens Creek Toyota ... read more

I took my car in around 11:30am for a 12pm appointment for oil change 5k mile service. Left around 4pm... I had to ask if tje car was ready twice so they knew I was there waiting. On top of tue long wait they broke 2 of my tires hubcaps and when i called they had the audacity to say the service man remembered my car and remembers putting them being broken when put back on the tires. WTF? THATS A HAZARD! THEY DID NOT LET ME KNOW AND ONE FLEW OF IN THE FREEWAY AND ANOTHER ON THE STREET ROLLING INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. I wrote ab... read more

My 2010 Corolla lost power to all essential functions. Windows, power steering, lights, blinkers, radio. The car would start , but nothing else. Another mechanic told me only the dealer can fix it, the cars computer, needs to be be reset. When I arrived for my appointment, I was greeted by 2 rude gentlemen. One of which continued to bring up theb $200 exam fee, I'm guessing he thought I couldn't afford it. About 4 hours later, I received a call from Toyota. I contacted Toyota of Berkeley for one of their preowned vehicles. I felt I confirmed the price I saw on Toyota.com preowned listing with them when I made the appointment for a test drive. Long story short they would not honor that price and said Toyota's preowned listings are not their responsibility to ensure the price is accurate, "We are Toyota of Berkeley not Toyota". I went to schedule my 2nd maintenance service, and was shocked by how rude the service advisor was. I don't think that the owner will be happy to hear the story about what happened. I ran away from this place even though it is super close to my home.

I was a loyal customer of Toyota of Berkeley, but I will never go there again for anything. Do not, repeat, do not take your car to Toyota of Berkeley to be serviced. I have a 2006 Toyota Highlander Hybrid that had the Check AVS and Check Brake lights come on. I took it to the dealer for diagnosis and repair. Dealer indicted it was an abnormal leak in the brake actuator. They quoted me $1800 for the part and $900 for labor to install it. I am writing this to spur the owners to fix their web and google presence. For two days I tried to get through by telephone, calling three different numbers found on the web. None worked. Rode my bike over today and was told they were having problems with such access, but that web person was dragging their feet. When talking with a real person, I got excellent service and easily scheduled the appointment for our car. Hopefully the service itself will be excellent and I can write a new review.
