I was at Gateway Kia in North Brunswick, New Jersey on January 29th to purchase a vehicle upon reviewing the paper work the dealer explained to me that the extended warranty on the vehicle was mandatory for any vehicles that were financed I explain to them that I was not aware of that they told me the extended warranty was $1,495. When I look at my paper work I have two warranty's one for $2,151 and the "Road Vantage" coverage for 5 years which is $1,495. I called looking for a price on the 2019 KIA SOUL leftover they had in stock and spoke to ed the salesman. He said he would call me back but after an hour and a half I called him back and he said because of the way things are he was very busy and I understood that. he called me back 3 min later and said i would get a better deal on a 2020 model. This dealership is a disaster and is the singularly poorest example of "customer service" that I've ever encountered in any business, anywhere. Read the other YELP reviews--I'm not alone! I recently leased a 2020 sportage sx-turbo from gateway kia. While making the deal I asked both the salesman Florel and floor manager Anthony if the car was equipped with a remote start. They both said no, but it could be installed before I take it. I of course trusted them and said sure. It was over $625 to install but that was fine with me. Days later, I find out that the car was already equipped with UVO which is Kia's phone app that starts the car and you can set the temperature and defroster setting. I called the dealer... read more
Worse company in the world to deal with. Will NEVER step foot into a dealership again. KIA has destroyed my credit rating over a $400 end-lease fee. I NEVER received a bill, a phone call or an email (even though they emailed me every month for 4 years to collect my lease payment) and then reported me as being delinquent to all three credit agencies destroying an impeccable credit record of 40 years. DO NOT DO business with them if you care about your credit!!!!!!
I had the worst experience this evening in the Gateway Kia. I went into Gateway looking for a 2020 specific color in hopes of being able to get the car COLOR I wanted in the near future. Two gentlemen were helping me at first despite them not having the inventory I was looking for. I was liking what this dealer had until the negotiating of my car loan. I was about to sign the paperwork when I asked how many months was my loan and they told me completely what I didn't want, 85 months and what I thought was being negotiated for 60 months. Before all this, the sales manager kept strong arming me to stay every time the amount was way too much. Embarrassing. I made an appointment to look at a specific car and upon arrival, the manager took over and started trying to talk me out of buying the car I was interested in. He was asking me what I was looking for in a car, rather than telling me what the specific car I wanted had to offer. Knowing I wanted that car, I played on. What a disappointment I had leased a 2016 Soul three years ago I was quite satisfied-my lease was going to be up in a few months so I went back to the salesperson Thomas Wall told him I wanted to upgrade to an Optima-he said he didn't have what I was looking for I asked if he could locate one he said no and I haven't heard from him since,he had a I can't be bothered attitude Oh well they lost my business I went to another dealership not KIA and got great deal with a salesperson who could be bothered
