I purchased a used certified car from them with a checklist explaining the car is in great condition. A couple months later, another dealership tells me all four tires are cupped and quoted me $1000 for new tires. Toyota of Boardman will not even get on the phone with me to come to a solution or provide an explanation. Shady business practices.

If you like being scammed or being taken of advantage, Toyota of Boardman is for you. Not only, like everyone else, do they not have any new cars in the lot, but also, in order to buy one, they are asking for over $7000 above retail. They said it's supply and demand. Since people need cars, they feel obligated to drag them over the coals. It's just business, they say. On top of that, if you have a trade in, they give you $800 for a $15,000 car in mint condition. They have no interest in selling you a car. Save time and don't... read more

Business response:

We are sorry that you felt scammed by us when in fact your trade-in vehicle had a salvage title. The vehicle you were referencing as in mint condition was involved in a total loss and cannot be sold retail again therefore, it has very little trade value. . A salvage title is in no way a “mint condition” trade. In fact some dealers don’t even want them on trade at all. The market conditions are not controlled by dealers the market is the market so to speak. Supply and demand are issues for every retail business right now ours... read more

This dealership sold me a damaged vehicle and listed it as a CPO. Now 2 months later wont return my phone calls that i placed asking for where my registration is. This place has zero accountability and treat you like a king until you sign. Then you quickly become a jester. Save yourself the hassle. Pay more elsewhere and get good service. I promise you, everything I said here is dead accurate and true.

On 3 December, I drove to Boardman Toyota to test drive a 2001 Corvette. This was a 100 mile drive so all subsequent conversation were with their internet salesman. On 4 December , we agreed to a price for the car and discussed the fees. I also completed their online fiance application which I was subsequently informed that the bank would require $3000 down due to the age of the car. I informed them that would be no problem. I the requested a delivery date of 11 December @ 10:30 hours. On 9 December, I received a voice-mail t... read more

Coverup, deceitful, arrogant, lack of integrity, lack of honesty...etc. I could go on but these are just a few words I can use to desvribe my experience with BOARDMAN TOYOTA. Ill be fair here and 100% honest!! Salesperson was great, finance manager was also good experience but when I discovered a few days after buying my CPO Tundra, that it had been severe structural damage, they simply denied it and chalked it up to “oh well”. Again, to be fair Ill explain in detail. Prior to buying I saw a showroom photo of truck with a ve... read more

LEASE TURN IN PROBLEM We turned in a 2016 Toyota Highlander at end of July, in good condition. We then get a bill from Toyota for $450. 45 for a very small chip in the upper right corner of the windshield that we were unaware of. Had we known it was there we would have had it repaired through our insurance ! We were very upset about this and contacted our salesman Mike Butream ! He too was upset because we have dealt with him for many many years and have leased and purchased a lot of vehichles through Preston Toyota of Board... read more

Lying and deceitful dealership Preston Toyota of Boardman is the most lying most deceitful dealership I have ever dealt with. Jay Albanese (sales manager) and Kevin Bertilacel (internet sales) are the most dishonest sales related people I have ever met. I was completely misled and lied to about specific questions and information I requested. My family and I drove six hours to purchase this vehicle. We bought a vehicle with many major problems and barley made the trip back home. In less than eight hours, I traded the vehicle ... read more

Business response:

Hello Mr Mitchell, We aren't sure what else we could have done differently. We sent every picture before you made the trip, it was a 208,000 mile Honda. We checked it through our shop and it passed our safety inspection. As stated, It appears you had an issue driving at 80 mph, but you didn't call us to let us know that you were having an issue. As we always do, we would have had it checked out by a local dealer close to you. Unfortunately you traded it before we had a chance to offer that. We know we were selling that vehic... read more

Felt taken advantage of Received 6000. under blue book and other dealers appraisal, the best deal they came up with was 2000. higher then internet special . That's $8000.00 they were trying to make off of 1 sale , I understand trying to make a dollar just not making $8000.00 off of one customer . Couldn't believe it was actually said to me with a smile like this is normal practice . Showed me Kelly blue book average price of $26,000+ for my trade and offered $20,000, I truly believe because my payoff is $20,000 from paying o... read more

Business response:

Mark, Thanks for taking the time to review us and I hope my phone call clarified any miscommunication that happened. We always try our best to make every experience painless and unfortunately you didn't have that feeling. As I stated on the phone call- we didn't change the new vehicle price when you came into the showroom. Our price including all applicable rebates and you elected to receive the pricing with using low interest rate option offered by Toyota. The trade in as we talked about we did have a difference in opinion ... read more

Poor Customer Service!!! I am amazed this dealer has a 4.9 star overall rating. I've never had a worse experience buying a vehicle, and I've purchased a lot, currently own 4 and a travel trailer!! Not only was the salesman, Dave Hogue (Internet Sales Mgr...Mgr??!!!), blunt & a complete jerk to my husband but also to the credit union loan officer who we know very well. She's never in all her years dealt with someone like this. Dave even made a snide remark about her calling his cell phone which was the only contact my husband... read more

Business response:

It was a pleasure speaking with you today. I am sorry things didn't go smoothly as they usually do based on our reviews. We do post our Presto! Pricing online to make everything quick & easy and as upfront as possible for the customers. Perhaps Dave didn't explain that upfront. That way customers locally or across the country always get our best price upfront. Unfortunately sometimes credit unions use a certain book value lower (wholesale) than a local bank (retail) and that can get in the way of a sale. We certainly aren't ... read more
