My grandfather has been a long term customer and has had his boat here for years . He doesn't have a use for the boat anymore so my husband said we would go and get it and help him sell it . This place is horrible. I ordered supplies from this merchant online and I was shipped expired stock. 33% of the shipment was expired, and the other 67% had less than half of its original shelf life of 3 years. What a waste of time. I had to waste my time returning the shipment before they would process a refund. Beware of this merchant!
I brought my two Yamaha waverunners in to Short's for repairs. One needed minor hull work which I was told they could fix when I dropped them off. The other wouldn't start after my last use. They told me it would be around a week before they could look at them. After two weeks and no phone call I checked in with them and they hadn't even looked at them yet. BUYER BEWARE!!!! Please do not purchase from this dealer. We bought a complete lemon and took it back 4 times to be fixed. After spending an additional $2000 it still does not run. Mr Shorts will not call us and the salesman hides in back office. Worst experience with a boat purchase EVER!!!! We now own a $12K yard ornament! Stay away from this business. They are dishonest thieves!
I ordered from Short's Marine online through Amazon. On May 20th, I ordered my cable. On May 26th, it was marked as delivered. The cable never arrived. I shortly after reached out to Amazon for answers and Amazon said they would get in touch with Short's and find out if they would be willing to send a new cable or refund my purchase. Today on 8/16/2016 I picked up my jet skis for the 2nd time it left me on the water stranded. It only had 8.3 hours on it the first time I took it there a few weeks ago and they couldn't find anything wrong with it either time but they have no problem charging me for nothing. I will give them high marks for their boat storage and the store is great. But after two tries with their service department, I would advise to go somewhere else if you need something fixed. I took my outboard to them because it was hard to start and then wouldn't run right. They supposedly cleaned the carb and charged me a couple hundred. Terrible service. I brought my new boat in with cover on it, they serviced the boat, never called me, and let it sit out on the lot uncovered for a week. They did some customization's that I never requested and charged me $700. The manager got in an argument with me, told me that I had asked for these customization's. When I produced the work order which I had a copy of, he tried to back pedal out of his accusations that I had requested the extra work...... Do not use these fools for anything. They ruined our family boat by not shrink wrapping it while it was in long term storage when they lied and said they did. Boat sat out in the elements for 4 years while someone stole items out of it. Company is as shady as it comes. Everyone we dealt with is extremely rude and very incompetent.
