Recently purchased Certified 528xi at Preston. Could not have had a better buying experience anywhere! After looking for a Certified used 5 series at all the BMW dealers in NE Ohio, I purchased from Preston. Reason was the way they treat customers, far surpassing what I experienced at the other dealerships. Al Schwartz was fair, honest, and eager to get me the right deal. I would recommend Preston, and Al Schwartz in particular, extremely high to anyone considering a BMW purchase.
It was by far the best car buying experience ever! A drive all the way from New York was well worth it. The dealership stayed open long after closing hours- professional, no pressure and spoke to me with honesty and were straight forward- never felt like they were playing games with me. Fantastic service and a great deal to boot. I live more than six hours away from this dealership, but found a 2006 Buick Lacrosse on their lot that I absolutely loved. Unfortunately, it was black, and I was kind of leaning towards silver, and another dealer about 60 miles from Preston BMW had a silver unit in stock. I drove six hours to see the silver car only to find major shortcomings that weren't as advertised. These guys are no better than your corner dirt used car lot. On Saturday, I made a deal for a car at MSRP and got multiple assurances in writing that the deal was done and that I can stop searching. On Monday (today), I got a call from Kyle Whelan to let me know that he's vetoing the deal and will charge me an extra $5,000. I asked him very direct questions about his integrity. NOT ETHICAL - I recently purchased a used car from Preston BMW and I can NOT recommend them due to their misleading and unprofessional practices. I have reached out to the GSM Kevin Whelan (who aplogized for some issues as "sorry, our salesperson is new" without discussion of a resolution) as well as the VP of Preston BMW - Kevin Leya (without a response) to try and resolve these issues.
Last year in February I brought my 2012 BMW 328i in for service and repairs since the engine seemed to be sputtering with acceleration and acting like it would stall out. I got it back in a few days after spending $3800 on repairs and drove it home to find that it was still doing the same thing. i called the dealership service dept and they wanted me to bring it back in. Terrible customer service - 12/14/19 I have dealt with a lot of different dealerships in my 62 years but I will never come back to Preston BMW. As far as taking care of my vehicle that was done well and proper but the site as a whole is the least friendly dealership I've ever been to. I mean my husband takes his F-150 to one of 100 dealers in the area and they at least greet him with a friendly smile and a good morning as he walks through the door. Below Average Took BMW in for service. The service advisor was not rude, but neither helpful. They do not go out of their way to make you feel welcome, and do the bare minimum. We picked up the car, and while it had been washed, it had not been vacuumed out. We were given an invoice, but not any real useful information. When you send a luxury vehicle in for service, you expect to be told how much is left on the tires, how much is left on the brakes, were the fluids topped off, etc. Nothing. Overcharged and repair not done. In addition to being charged 70% over what was quoted, came home to find out the service was not done. I did price the repair at another location and it was considerably less. I guess I should have driven a bit further and I wouldn't be in this situation.
