Service Dept. is an embarrassment to the VW brand My husband purchased a certified pre-owned GTI in December 2013. 2 weeks later it was spitting and sputtering. I brought it into the service dept. for repair. They replaced a coil pack and sent me down the road. A month later, another coil pack went out. It was towed into the service dept. because I was afraid to drive it. No customer acknowledgement. Disappointing After asking for my contact in internet sales - was told that she had no authority to talk about the cars and we would need to speak with a sales person. The office has glass walls and it was obvious that were waiting in the showroom in front of the office a long time. Not Trustworth Drove five hours from Tallahassee to Lakeland to purchase used car. Negotiated price and other on phone before coming, including that I could have the car independently inspected in Lakeland prior to purchase because it had been in accident. Once I got there they would not let me take the car for independent inspection prior to purchase as had been agreed to. There was no down side for them to let me have the car looked at. Customer Service is a joke! We purchased a Certified Pre-Owned Volkswagen Touareg on Wednesday, July 23rd, 2014. On Saturday July 26th, 2014, the car completely died while we were traveling in Georgia. We had the car towed to the closest VW dealer (Butler VW in Macon Georgia). It is now Thursday, July 31st and Lakeland VW has not tried to help us at all. I have directly emailed the General Manager and received no response. I would NEVER recommend this dealership!!! I found the vehicle on cars.com and drove over an hour and a half to get to Lakeland VW. Online the description said the car was "certified pre-owned" and still had warranty on it. A week after purchase, the buttons for the gas cap and the passenger window broke off. I brought the car to my local VW dealership and I then found out that the warranty had expired on the vehicle 2 months before I even purchased it! Requested them to give me a call about any used 2013 beetles that come up but they never called. Not even to tell me they didn't have any. Not happy at all. They lost a sale from me as I went to a more local dealership and bought one there.

These are the people who give car salesmen a bad name and have mastered the old yet disgusting practice of bait and switch. I just returned from wasting 3 hours of my life thinking we had made a deal after looking at different cars, test driving the one I liked, negotiating, agreeing on a final price and signing the buyer's order with the salesman AND the manager only for the manager to come back later trying to raise the price by $2000 alleging they had made a mistake and were working off the wrong stock number. I was recently in the market to purchase my second Jetta. I love the Volkswagen brand, but I’m not a fan of the new body style, so I decided to go with a CPO vehicle. This new ownership leaves a lot to be desired. After visiting and later agreeing to a price over the phone with the salesman, I gave a down payment via credit card. Upon going to purchase the car, they had a different price than agreed over the phone. Met with the manager, Jarod who was rude and condescending. They have refused to give back the down payment. Do not give these guys a down payment without documentation of the price or they will change it on you!
