I am really disappointed with how I was treated at Whitman. My Chevy Tahoe was towed there by Chevy Roadside. I called ahead to alert the service department that it was on the way. The battery was completely dead. They called me at the end of the day and said they were unable to find a problem. When I went to pick the car up the next day it had been left unlocked on the lot. Attention Senior Citizens!!! Very very unhappy with the way this dealership and its staff (aside from the sales person Jamie who was great) handled our sale. I am also a local dealer in plattsburgh NY. My grandmother (whos husband my Grandfather owned several car dealerships and service stations from the 1960s and on in plattsburgh) was looking to purchase a used vehicle that she was familiar with and could easily drive, and being a former Toyota Dealer she had driven the Toyota Matrix several times. Recently stopped while car shopping. We had only stopped to take a look at the used cars onsite. We had a budget in mind and whitemans was NOT our only stop that day. Upon viewing a vehicle we saw price was out of range so we turned away and started to walk towards a different vehicle, at this point we were scooped up by an elderly guy asking what we were looking for etc. We engaged in this Conversation told him what we expected to get for our car and what we were looking to spend. They don’t stand behind their word or product just like all the other dealerships these days. They buy junk cars from auctions and put them right on the lot before looking at them or fixing.

Because they don't care about what happens after the sale as I bought a car just three months ago and I have had problems with it and the service department didn't acknowledge what I said was wrong and they came up with a lame excuse and I had to take it back and get the real problem that I had told them about fixed correctly. Then I tell them that I believe that the rear bearings are going and they gave me a look like I didn't know what I was talking about. I recently purchased a used car from them and In negotiations with Curt who is in appraisals and sales, we agreed on everything included and I would just need to spend $50 on the title after the fact(which is understandable) Now I receive a bill for $161.50? For plates and registration as well as the title when We agreed the registration would be included. In the first week I had to bring my car back for a broken seat heater and screeching in the brakes. I have to say, I normally LOVE whitemans...my first new car I ever bought was from them, my husbands current car is through them...but due to our most recent dealings with the used car side, I am afraid I will never shop there again.
